Beautiful place to visit and stay, surf and swim at patrolled beach, fish from beach or Rockwall, we stayed at Ballina Lakeside Campground and Loved it. Short walk to tidal lake, bike to pub or store, drive to shops/town, hydroslides, boat ramp. 1hr drive from Tweed...Will go again
Food was great, thoroughly enjoyed the omlette and bacon and egg burger. Staff were under the pump, but both my wife and I felt like a hindrance to one particular staff member. Would have been a great meal otherwise.
We took 6 people for lunch between christmas and new year and the food was terrible. We had been there many times before and it was good but a new menu left a lot to desired.
I came here with my wife and in laws for new years eve dinner. The service was shockingly bad and beyond ridiculously slow, other reviews that mention acquiring a collection of dirty dishes and glasses on their table by the end of the meal are no exaggeration. I also watched this happening on other tables and these items remaining for over an hour after the table was vacated. When we eventually got our food ninety minutes after ordering it was mediocre and definitely over priced for what it was, ignore the text of the menu this is below average pub grub pretending to be a real restaurant. This further confused me as to how it took so long for us to receive our food when it was all so simple (mostly deep fried) and it was not busy at all (should have been a warning sign as it was new years eve). Anyone considering here for dinner I recommend to avoid and go somewhere else.
Point Ballina is beautifully situated on the river and in the heart of town. The furnishings are a delight and most seating affords water views. The meals are of excellent quality and variety. The staff are very friendly. A perfect location for an intimate dinner or family celebration.
